Quarantine Chritmas

Christmas break.....oh Christmas break..... we started off so strong, enjoying our break, doing all the fun holiday things. On Christmas Eve, I was feeling so-so but powered through. On Christmas morning, we opened all our presents and had a great morning together. Blaine was scheduled to go into work and had to be there early and we had plans to go to Carol and Sharons house for our annual Tunisian lunch. Just to be safe, Blaine suggested we swing by the station so I could test myself for Covid since we were going to be around my parents.

Low and behold....I was positive. Everyone else was negative. So home we went, all masked up. I went into the bedroom and stayed in there for the next three days. All alone. It was glorious, if I am being honest😊 Blaine was a rockstar and held down the fort for the next three days.

Owen even made me breakfast in bed the first morning!
A few days later, Blaine also tested positive and since he had been out with the boys for the last few days, we all came out to be together in quarantine. We spent the next 10 days at home together and made the most of it and spent as much time outside as we could. The boys continued to test negative and since my symptoms were pretty minor to begin with (aside from a cough I could not shake) I was feeling pretty good. Blaine felt run down and tired but we were grateful we were ok.
I love these pics of Blaine giving the boys lessons on weight lifting! We spent lots of time out there killing time, enjoying the weather.

New years came and we were still in quarantine. But we ended up having a great time. We did our annual picnic with the boys favorite foods on the living room floor and made a run to a firework stand for some small fireworks we could do in the yard.

He was not a fan of the sparklers!

Because almost our entire break was in quarantine, I wanted to end on a high note, so we took a last minute "trip" to Kalahari. Eli wanted to stay back and hang with his friends, so Owen and Cash both got to invite a friend. It was a fun 24 hours complete with expensive food, a pillow fight on the hotel beds and a ton of waterpark fun.

We had a couple days back out in the world before returning to school, and the fun we packed in those last couple of days outweighed all the time the boys were forced to stay at home!

December Randomness

Hobo is always planning adventerous things and booked some sites out at Inks Lake. We were not able to stay the night but headed out there for the afternoon. It was a beautiful afternoon. We fished, explored and ran around.

Eli wrapped an undefeated, great season of soccer. He really hustled and I was so proud of the way he played!

We are still exploring and getting to know our new neck of the woods. So we walked down to the golf course down by our house. We arent technically supposed to be down there but just went to check it out...and since there were not many people out there, the boys ran up and down and around and had a blast!

Alana and Aaron got married! Their wedding was in Plano, was Covid conscious and kids were not invited, so Blaine stayed home with the boys and made the trip with Ethan for the weekend. It was a beautiful wedding and so much fun to get to hang out with Ethan the entire weekend. Rachel came up for Sunday night along with my mom and we all got to be together at the wedding.

Holiday events kicked off....our first stop was watching Elf with a whole bunch of buddies when Kifer Sparks rented our the Alamo...also, Tripp's first movie...I give him a 6/10.

In between adult Christmas parties we tried to fit in some fun kid stuff, so we headed to Peppermint Parkway for some fun.

We met some friends to ice skate and some pickle ball.
