We left as early as we could get everyone dressed and out the door and headed that way. We got there as soon as it opened so it was actually pleasant outside and the crowds had not yet trickled in.
They were so excited to be there, that after a stop for some face painting and a giant bag of kettle corn, they ran as fast as they could to the first giant, military vehicle they saw.
Between stops, the boys would stop and pick me flowers. I eventually had to stop them because I was eventually holding a pile or wilting dead flower/weeds.
And then on to see the rest....
We eventually had it all the way through and found this cannon tucked off to the side that the boys spent the next (it felt like an hour) chunk of time climbing on.
Cash spent at least 15 minutes trying to figure out how to get over a bump on the cannon to get to his brothers. He finally found the perfect way to tackle the bump and then proceeded to perfect his technique.
They were a tad dirty when we got home. Can you imagine that these things were dirty?!?!? They were oddly proud of their filthy hands.
The boys really enjoyed themselves and asked lots of questions. Since then they always spot "real" military people and stare at them as we pass by and want to know when we can go back there.
