Where Is My Baby?

I mean.....look how old Cash looks!!!! Ugh, it kills me.

On our day alone together we went shopping and then stopped off to get a haircut.  I have a love/hate relationship with haircuts for my boys.  I know they are necessary, but the longer their hair, the younger they look too.  Cash was pretty desperate for a haircut.

Ok, I know I should not have done this, but it was funny, and come on, I have all boys, I just wanted to see what our daughter would look like (not that I would fix her hair like this).  Dont judge me.

Getting Out of Town

Blaine has a lot going on with work right now and is doing a lot of reading at home during the day.  It has been a challenge to give him the time he needs during the day with the boys being at home. To refresh your memory, he is home, all day long, for 48 hours after only being gone for 24 hours every three days, giving us a lot of time at home together!

So I was looking for some fun stuff for us to do to get out of the house and two people in the same day recommended T Bar M Ranch. So I checked it out when Rachel was here last week and we decided to just do it!  I thought it would be fun to get out of town for a few days and Rachel could use a change of scenery to  mix-up the daily grind with a newborn.  Going anywhere with Rachel is fun and there are certain to be a lot of laughs.  This trip did not disappoint!

Monday morning I sent the boys off to school wearing their green shirts for St. Patricks day while I packed our bags and got some snacks together.

I picked them up early from school, got Rachel, and we headed off to New Braunsfels to head to T Bar M Ranch.  We had told the boys where we going and what we were going to do, but when Owen's teacher asked him where we were going he said "I don't know, they don't tell me these things."  That kid!
We took the short drive south on I-35, checked into our room and went out exploring. They could not wait to get out the door.
If anyone knew me when Eli was a baby, think back to the kind of baby Eli was and Lola is the complete opposite.  She is the easiest, most content baby I have ever come across.  I am pretty sure I heard her make maybe three sounds the whole trip, never upset, never trouble sleeping.....oh to have an easy baby like that! There was not a chance in hell that I would have taken one of my 5 week old babies on a trip! She is already sleeping 8 hour stretches at night! I swear, I am just now recovering from the awful sleeper Cash was!

The first stop was the golf green that ended up being the top spot of the trip.

The off to the playground...

The gym, equipped with every kind of ball and table game....
My little baller:)
Cash loves playing with balls, as most little boys I guess, but he sleeps with them in his crib and has them in hand when I go get him in the morning, we carry them to the car, in the store, he is always tossing or kicking or throwing one around the house.

Then off to the giant chess game, which Eli thought was AWESOME.  Blaine taught him a little chess, and he really enjoys playing it and setting up the board the right way.

and to the baseball fields where they played...horseshoes?!?!? Or something like that.
And Lola...she did this all day.
It was the week after Spring Break but they continued Spring Break activities this week as well, only we had almost the whole place to ourselves!
We did a lot of exploring and playing outside before we had dinner and headed to our room to get in pajamas only to head back outside for a movie!

They had a movie on the lawn with popcorn and ice cream.  The first night it felt like a private viewing!

Healthy meals and snacks are totally thrown out the window with the 3rd kid.  No popcorn until 3? Forget it.  Sweets and candy, bring it on!  Ice cream at 9pm? Sure! Pizza, hamburgers and fries are totally considered appropriate meals, right?!?!?

 Synchronized ice cream licking!

The next morning after breakfast it was back to the golf green...

I am pretty sure they are discussing their old strategy.  Or arguing over something.  Who knows!

Then off to the chess board again....

...and back to the room so Cash could nap and Rachel introduced the boys to Tom and Jerry....
...and Lola was still doing a lot of this...
When everyone woke up, we headed a few miles down the road to Landa Park to check out the cool park.

The boys were dying to go swimming, but the thought of squeezing myself into a bathing suit and blinding everyone with my pale legs was, well, not appealing to me and it was too cold for me anyway. After some begging, I agreed to let them put their feet in.

They eventually were pretty much swimming in their clothes, so I went and got them their bathing suits.  The water was freezing so they went back and forth from the pool to the hot tub but agreed to stay in the shallow water so I did not have to get in too.

We had a picnic dinner in the room the second night and got ready to see Monsters Inc. out in the courtyard. On our final day, we walked to breakfast and back to the room to pack up.

Lola wanted to be in on the "selfies," and she was actually awake, so I obliged, and this is Cash's "eeeeeeeese" (or cheese) face.
I had such a good time (as always) with Rachel and the kids!  I cant wait for our next vacation together. I am thankful every day to have my sister be my best friend!
