Dear Owen,
Mommy loves and adores you. But I need you to know that 4:45 is not an appropriate time to wake up for the day. Especially on a very busy day like today. Seriously. Dude.
It is a real good thing you are cute. And smiley.

Randomness
I have a bunch of pictures from random outings and happenings, but no real good stories to tell, so here is a smorgishborg of pictures and tidbits.
Eli started back at school two weeks ago. He is in a class with 9 other kids at Kingdom Kids Weekday where he was last year. I was really expecting there to be re-adjusting period for him when school started back up, but we were surprised when he picked up right where he left off last year and just walked in happy as can be.
Eli was ready to go on his first day back!
After our latest run at the trail, we played at Zilker and even stopped to watch the swimmers at Barton Springs and enjoy a snow cone.
After I took this last picture, I noticed something a little odd, and frankly a bit scary in the background. Let me zoom in for you to take a look.....

Eli's best friend Jonah started school at KKW this year too. I was pretty disappointed when we found out they were in different classes, but after seeing how they act around each other, we have decided that its a good thing; they would have probably ended up getting in lots of trouble together. These boys go NUTS around each other. They yell. The run. They run into things. They LOVE each other and are wild animals when they are together. We met up for ice cream after the first day of school and nearly got kicked out of the store for all the ruckus they caused.
Lucky for us, Jonah lives just down the street and we get together a couple of times a week and lately its been at the park.
There he goes again...trying to feed Becca his snack
Dirty, sweaty Jonah! (the drought has caused LOTS of dust at the park and they always come home a shade darker than they were when we got there! Its not a black eye, just the aftermath of rubbing his eyes with dirty hands)
Blaine switched stations about 8 months ago, and we hadn't been up there since Owen started walking, so this weekend we made a quick trip up there to see him while he was at work.
We went to the doctor for Owen's 1 year well-check appointment, and he left with a clean bill of health. He has leveled out and isn't so big anymore. Here are the stats:
Head- 50%
Height- 38cm (65%)
Weight - 22 lbs (30%)
He got two shots and a finger prick today and was quite the trooper. Although the rest of the day, was not fun. He was just fussy, fussy! But it wasn't anything that some fresh air and a Popsicle couldn't cure.
It certainly helps that it isn't in the 100's anymore.
So with the cooler weather, we have literally been waking up and heading outside to soak up all the cool weather we can take!!
We have been heading out to the trail almost everyday and even took a little trip to The Nature Center because we just weren't ready to go back inside.
After our latest run at the trail, we played at Zilker and even stopped to watch the swimmers at Barton Springs and enjoy a snow cone.

WEIRD.
