Busy Bee

Eli has been keeping me busy these days! Hence, the delay in posting anything for a while.
On Saturday, we celebrated his half-year birthday. I dont know if we were celebrating that fact that he is now half a year old or that Blaine and I have made it 6 months and are still sane....and falling deeper in love with this little guy everyday!

Eli has started to giggle. Full on body-laughing-giggle and it is awsome! It makes the mornings that he decides that 445am is a good time to wake up all worth it. Its amazing to see this little boy grow up in front of our eyes.

Attempting to crawl....

Showing his musical side...

his studious side...

AND...we finally did it! Eli started rice cereal, and he LOVED it!

I was fully prepared for a disaster the first time we gave him cereal, but he was a natural! He opened his mouth in anticipation and couldnt wait for the next bite. Of course the cereal was running down his chin, onto his belly and got swung onto me and the ground, but he seemed to really like it. Im just hoping this doesnt lead to The Big C......Constipation!!! I have prepared myself and already have pureed prunes on hand.

The rest of our week has been full of packing for our trip to Lake Tahoe with the whole Kruger family (four generations!) and visits from friends....

Happy Birthday Blaine

So, today is Blaine's 30th birthday. Doesnt thirty just sound SO old! I had this grand idea to make Blaine a card with Eli's pictures. I know, he kinda looks like a wizard in that hat, but I thought it was funny. He on the other hand, did not think the hat was funny, and did not like it one bit, hence the reason he isnt smiling in one picture.
Going back to being thirty...I went to the mall the other day and walked into a store behind 4 girls who were probably no older than 15. I overheard them talking about boys. I remember being that age but I dont think I was as grown up as they were! As I walked behind them pushing my stroller I felt SO old. I remember being that age and seeing a lady who looked so much older than me with a baby--poor old, boring lady with a baby----that is me now! I felt SO old.

Already I feel like Eli is growing up so fast. I cant believe that one day he is going to have hair under his armpits, and body odor, his voice is going to crack, and he will be coming home smitten over a girl he met at school. Having a baby really has made me take a step back and really enjoy every moment as it happens. I dont want to miss a thing with this boy. As much as I wish he was ready to drop his one nighttime feeding, I cherish the quiet moments I have with him everynight and find myself starring down at him, and half the time my eyes well up thinking about how much I love him. Everytime I feel myself getting anxious and ready for him to crawl, walk, talk, I take that step back and enjoy the moments I have with him now because I will never get this time with him back.
Back to Blaines birthday....
I dont know anyone who doesnt like getting presents except for Blaine. I dont know why, it will always be a mystery to me. But how could I let his brirthday come and go without a present???
So, here is what I got him....along with the card I made him titled "Thirty Things I Love About You on Your 30th Birthday"

Could be anything right?
But here is what it is...... (I was trying to throw him off by putting in that bag!)

The one on the right! Its the littlest computer ever...that is mine on the left, just to put in into perspective on how little it is. Blaines computer took a dive to its death on Saturday, so the timing couldnt have been better!

Happy 4th of July!

Between the fascination with the grass and the bouts of crying from teething pain, it took a good 10 minutes to get Eli to look up for a picture!
This is what teething does.....EVERYTHING goes straight to the mouth!
Poor baby has a few "buds" where some teeth are trying to break through and has been having bouts of crying and fussing coupled with bouts of happiness and smiles...its all a mystery to us! There are no teeth yet, but I'm sure they aren't too far behind...
