Corona Chronicles

We have been doing a whole lotta nothing around here lately. I have done my best to find fun, safe things to do with the boys. Usually when I throw out an idea, I get a lot of moans and groans and comments on how boring it sounds.  Anything beats staying at home all day every day doing nothing though.

At this point, a can of shaving cream that is fair game is suuuuper exciting:)

There have been a lot of really sweet moments amongst these 4 boys....there have also been a fair share of the moments on the flip side. One day, I sure hope they look back and realize how lucky they are to have each other, especially during this challenging time.

We decided a few weeks back that we would spend time with Rachel, her kids and Ethan. We are all very transparent with each other about where we have been and felt like for all of our sanity, it was low risk and would benefit all of out mental health. There have been a few evenings that we have all met at Ethan's  backyard for a picnic dinner and smores in the fire pit.

My parents very sweet neighbors have let us use their pool pretty much any time we want. Its been such a life saver to have this option on these hot, hot days!

We always stop by to say "hi" through the window before we leave to head home.

Ok, so I was really feeling antsy. I needed something to add some excitement to our lives. So on a whim, I rented this 40ft slip and slide for the boys for a couple of days. It was the best thing I have done so far this quarantine. It actually felt like summer for the first time--SO MUCH FUN. The only thing missing was being able to enjoy it with a bunch of friends!

We spent the day at Sommerville State Park. Rachel and Hobo had just bought an RV and they were taking it out for a test spin before they drove up to MI, so we just tagged along for the nights. We had intended to spend the night and camp, but as the night crept on, it was clear that no one was going to sleep. The intense heat and bugs, and the fact that there was not enough room for everyone in the camper if someone got scared or too uncomfortable, had us rethink spending the night and we packed up and went home super late.  We did a bunch of fishing and running around and hanging out. It was a great little day away.

Sometimes, you just gotta play in the hose.....and put a baby in a bucket!
