A Glimpse of my Good Moments

This winter has gone by quite fast in the sense that its its been very mild, and quite warm.  Yesterday we were playing outside in shorts! But in another sense, it has dragged on FOREVER. I feel like I have been pregnant for a year already.  Just in the past week I have finally started to feel a little better.  I'm still waiting for the second trimester burst of energy and to to look in the mirror and see the glow everyone talks about.  But so far all I see is a disheveled, tired, cranky mess that is still nauseous the majority of the time.
During those moments where I feel good, I try really hard to get out and do something fun with the boys.  They deserve it after having to put up with me day after day in the state that I am in.  Sometimes that has meant staying in PJ's until 4pm or just letting them play outside while I sip on sparkling water or eat sour candy.  There are days I dont even want to be with myself, I can not imagine how they and Blaine feel!
Here is a glimpse of some good moments.

Shaving cream fun

Town Lake run and trip to The Nature Center

We went to Rachel's and Hobo's for dinner, but walked to the fire station to visit Blaine first

 Eli loves the weight room!

 A little painting project

We found out a few weeks ago that we will be having another boy.  I felt like it was a boy all along, but there was the smallest little inkling that maybe thought it could be a girl.  Now that we know, I could not be more excited.  The thought of having THREE boys under 3 1/2 is yes, terrifying at times, but also, the thought of having three little boys melts my heart.  I love nothing more than to see Eli and Owen together and loving each other and to add one more is beyond exciting to us!
I enjoy sitting back and watching the boys go at each other and fight, hit, and steal toys from each other, listening to Owen copy everything Eli says and hearing him say " See that Eli?!?!?" as he drives a truck across the floor, watching Owen run to Eli's door when he hears him wake up, run around the yard together, share and steal snacks from each other, watch Owen learn bad habits from Eli, seeing them play 'fort' under the kitchen table, hide and seek in the curtains, trains, and just about everything Eli does, Owen follows.  I cant wait to have three of these crazy, energy filled, tantrum throwing, adorable, sweet boys.
Thankfully the boys got into a fabulous new school by our house for next year and will be going three days a week (instead of just two) next year which will be a life-saver!

We plan on moving the boys into a room together in the next few months to prepare for the baby.  I finally after looking for months on-line bought the boys bedding for their "new" room off of Etsy.com.  You would have thought I was buying bedding that they had to use for the rest of their lives, it was such a hard decision for me.  Who knows if I will like it when it gets here, but Im glad I finally made myself make a decision and I can clean my hands of looking.  We bought a new bed for Eli and plan to have two beds in his room for a while to get them used to the idea before actually moving them in together.

Before baby comes, Im determined to pack in all of the appointments that need to happen.
Over the last two weeks, we have taken Eli to an allergist, to his first dentist appointment, Eli had blood drawn,  Owen had his 18 month well-check, and they both had haircuts.

We went to the allergist to retest for nut allergies.  We were given such conflicting information the first time that we went to a different doctor and did different testing.  Mothers intuition just told me that the first results we were given just were not right, and I was right.
My parents were in Hong Kong for this appointment and I knew I needed help, so my wonderful, awesome God Mother, Susu, who stands in as Grandmother while my parents are gone, came with me to help with the boys.  I could not have done it without her.  She had her ipad on hand, played dinosaurs, handed out snacks, sang songs, and entertained the boys while I was busy with the doctor.  I just feel so lucky to have someone like her who loves my children like they were her own and would be there at the drop of a hat if I needed her.  I can only imagine that it was comforting to my mom while she was gone that there was someone to take care of us.
Eli was a trooper even through the 20 pricks on his back.  We figured while they were there we may as well test for seasonal allergies as well.  I dont know how I ended up with a kid with allergies and asthma.  His numbers for pecans and walnuts came down significantly from the first blood test (almost two years ago), which is a really good thing, but still tested positive for them along with cashews, pistachios, hazelnuts, and almonds are questionable.  We go back for an oral challenge for almonds in a few weeks because his blood test came back negative.  We were all cleared for peanuts which is great.  Some seasonal allergies came back positive as well, but nothing out of the norm.

His poor back was pretty itchy for the rest of the day, but he was pretty proud of his wounds.  We took this picture at the office so he could see what was being done to him.  We switched one of Eli's medicines and I am anxious to see if we notice any changes.

Considering it is a struggle to even brush Eli's teeth every day, I was nervous about his first dentist appointment.  Not to mention my extreme phobia of the dentist, to the point of having to change the channel when a toothpaste commercial comes on or leave the room if someone is talking about the dentist.  I made it very clear to Blaine that I would NEVER be the one to take our kids to the dentist.
Somehow at the very last minute I ended up having to take him.  I was so worried my own anxieties would rub off on Eli, but low and behold, we both survived.  I think I may have even been more proud of myself for making it through! Not to mention that Eli did fabulous and got to pick out some cool treats from the treasure chest they had! He never ceases to amaze me!

Owen checked out with a clean bill at his 18 month well-check.
24 lbs. -25%
32 inches -65%
He is really keeping up with Eli these days, and frankly learning a few too many things from him too quickly.
We go for our 20 week ultrasound on Thursday, so stay tuned for a picture of the newest little critter.
