Boys and Their Toys
Blaine came home the other day with a big bag and a huge smile. He said he got Eli a toy. What he really meant was that he got himself a toy and disguised it as a toy for Eli. Sneaky.
Needless to say, once I got over the initial shock of the ridiculousness of it all, it was actually a lot of fun. It is like this crazy fast, indestructible remote control car, I know.
Yes, Eli is wearing part of his Halloween costume. He refused to take it off the rest of the day. And yes, he is going to be a UPS guy!
We walked to this huge field that is literally across the street from our house and just went to town. Eli loved it and Owen loved chasing after it.
Blaine even convinced me to give it a whirl.
It has become our new after dinner activity for the last week! Next time I splurge and come home with a huge shopping bag Im going to pawn it off as "stuff" for the boys!

Hats Off to Ya!
We had our first minor injury with Owen last week, which is amazing considering how wild he is. He climbs on everything, he shows no fear about anything, I have found him inside a TV stand, on top of the toy chest, on top of the table, running towards stairs, toward the edge of the pool, he climbs into the bathtub....the other day at BuyBuy Baby I put him down for a nano second to get something off the shelf and I turned around and found him half way up one of those ladders they have with the signs that says "Employees Only" to get things off the very top shelf. Anyway, bath time is a favorite at our house and as soon as I ask him if he is ready for his bath, he makes a B-line to the bathroom. On this specific night he ran in there, slipped on the rug, and flipped back just like it was straight out of a cartoon, his
feet when flying up and landed right on his head. I instantly picked him up, he let out a huge wail, and then, nothing. Thankfully Blaine was home, so I ran into the living room and passed him off to Blaine just as he went limp and his eyes glassed over and he was just starring. Since Blaine is EMT certified, he was able to stay calm, assess his situation and deal with it while I ran around like I was crazy, looking for my phone to call 911. Shortly after he started crying again, and cried for a good amount of time. We obviously didn't need to call 911. We knew that we needed to watch him for a while to make sure he was acting normal, had his balance and didn't throw up. So instead of taking a bath and getting ready for bed (he was 30 min from bedtime) we thew them in the stroller and walked through the greenbelt to the trail at the park by our house.
He looks fine, right???
Eli was thrilled to get out and do something too. Lately he has been telling me at least four times a day that he "wants to do something today." Usually one of those times is when we are about to start our night time rituals or go t bed, on this night he got his wish.
Eli has decided that he needs to shorten words, because you know, sometimes they are just too long to say. For example:
Larry- Lar
Yogurt- yog
Sprinkles- sprinks
Dangerous- dange
Frankie-Franks or Franka
Yogurt Pretzels- Yogurt Pretz
Nilla Wafers- Nafers
Excavator- Excavade
He also decided he only wants to be potty-trained at home.
This potty training thing is taking a lot longer than I had expected. I am probably at fault for that too, sometimes diapers just seem so much easier. He basically just gets too distracted when we are out to remember because at home he is a champ about it.
We made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch last week. The boys had a really good time running around all of the pumpkins. Eli is really into Halloween this year and is really excited about it so he was pumped to go to "the patch." Although we just got his costume in the mail today that he has been talking about for at least a month and as soon as I pulled it out he told me he wanted to be a ghost, seriously???? Come Halloween, his costume may be a white sheet. Our cousin Kim and her little boy Miles came and met us there for his first pumpkin pictures. Miles is precious and just celebrated his first birthday yesterday. Owen and Miles are 6 weeks apart, just like me and his dad.

Will I ever get a good picture of the both of them???
And Eli was pooped, taking a little rest on a pumpkin.
Owen got his first haircut, about a month ago actually, I'm just a little behind on the blogging. While he was waiting for his turn, he couldn't help but notice something he hadn't seem before....a doll.
He wasn't quite sure what to do with it, he just knew he liked it.
Do I eat it?
Turn it upside down and shake it?
Poke it in the eyes???
Ill just kiss it!
