For Little Kids That Dont Stay Little For Long

I finally got to see if this morning...it left me crying like a baby in bed!!!

Its amazing to see this. Having been there and done it, I remember all the sweet moments that did not make the cut, but I think this is amazing and feel so fortunate to have this little treasure for our family!

Enjoy!

Out takes and Updates

We had a little snafu with our photographer for our holiday pictures at the last minute, so in a complete panic, I made the boys get dressed and bribed them with anything they wanted to come outside to take some pictures for me.  I promised them 10 minutes tops and then they could play.
Here are some out-takes from our photo session.

We spent the few days before Thanksgiving hanging out at my parents house and with my parents and Ethan since he was in town.

My mom is always teaching lessons, this one was about when you keep blowing air into a balloon eventually it will pop-just like your emotions  and getting angry.

I really only like this picture because we laughed so hard looking at it because Ethan's hand looks HUGE.

And the boys helped make the famous punch this year.

On Monday before the break, we headed up to SHPC for the Thanksgiving lunch and performance for Owen and Cash. As expected, they both stood up on stage, not singing their class song, just starring out at us.

On Tuesday I went with Eli's class on his very first field trip to Crowe's Next Farm. I drove up there with my friend and neighbor Kimberly and we met the Kindergartners there. We had a great time there and it was fun to watch Eli around his classmates, and to get to know some of the other kids in his class. This was the best picture I could get with all the kids in one spot.....oops, not so great. His teacher had just gone through a miserable miscarriage the week before, so it was good to see her face again and know that she was starting to be OK.  The class really came together with wonderful gifts, cards and words of love for her and her husband who have been struggling with infertility for 4 years. I feel like we struck gold with Mrs. Nobbe this year and having a smooth transition into elementary school.  She has really made it easy and eased all my anxieties just after the first phone call came of her introducing herself.

November was really great, and I am flabbergasted that it is already half way into December!
Thanksgiving this year was really wonderful.  Blaine was at work Thanksgiving morning and was getting off around 10am.  Our neighborhood was putting on its own Turkey Trot and I really wanted to be able to participate, so I borrowed a triple stroller from a neighbor so that we could all make it out there.  I was unsure if Eli would still get in a stroller, but if I had let him ride his bike, I would have had to let all three ride something and that just was not going to happen.  We tried to do that one ambitious morning on the way to school and we made it three houses down before I made them all throw their bikes and scooters in Kimberly's yard and just walk.  Its really just Cash that makes it so stressful because he is super confident and fast and nerve wracking to keep tabs on him and the others. They were so excited to all sit together that they all hopped right in!  There was a huge turnout. I think something like 400 neighbors were out there!  It was a beautiful morning!  We headed out to the start, just down the street from us and got ready to run.

That triple stroller is a BEAST! I figure I was pushing around 150 pounds.  Thankfully on the two big uphills, two sweet neighbors who I had never met offered to help me push it up the hill.  Thankfully! We had a great time out there.  And I was able to keep a slow and steady pace the entire time. We headed home to shower up and get ready to head to  my parents house.  Cash insisted on helping with blow-drying my hair.  I think I sat there for 20 minutes while he brushed and blowed my hair.  Ever since then, he insists on helping me every day with the blowdryer, or he will take anyone who will sit there for him.

My camera did not get taken out pretty much the entire day of Thanksgiving.  But it was a wonderful day. It felt easy, and laid-back, and like everyone around us was having just as much fun as we were.  We had a lot of people, as always for Thanksgiving.  We got there around 11 and stayed until about 6pm.  It was a beautiful day, and the kids were able to play outside the entire day with their cousins.

My dear friend Jimmy, who I met working at Pure Austin, some 15 years ago was in town and came too. It was so amazing that he was there!!! I just loved getting to catch up with him!

We spent the rest of the weekend hanging out with family, being lazy, and eating lots of left-over pie.

We had our annual polachinka breakfast at my parents house the Sunday after Thanksgiving too!

I feel like this time of year flies by!!!! Eli is counting down the days until "winter break" and I am also looking forward to some downtime and lazy  mornings.

A few more pictures from the last month....

Blaine had to travel to a different station one shift, so he brought home his turnouts and the boys had a hay day playing with them, ok, I had fun too.

I have made it my mission to give blood or platelets anytime I am able to now that I have a couple of days where all three boys are in school.  The boys were really curious about giving blood and had lots of questions, so I had my girl take a picture of me with my blood before she took it back.
We are in the holiday spirit so in between holiday parties we invited a few families to go to The Trail of Lights with us this year.  We stopped for a quick bite to eat all together which was just mayhem before heading to Zilker.  We got to the start of the trail at 6 with Zip Passes, courtesy or Kruger's Jewelers being a sponsor.
It was seriously crazy once we got in there.  The kids were running around like crazy people and it took every thing I had to make sure I had tabs on each of the boys!  Owen seemed a little under the weather that night, so he stuck pretty close to us. And Blaine and I just had to keep switching off who was watching who.  When all of our kids get together, they just get crazy.  Most of them are older than our boys, so the little boys try and keep up as best they can with the big kids.

Owen did end up getting sick, with a 104 fever, so we spent the next few days laid up at home. He tested negative for the flu and strep, so we just waited it out. A week later, he was back to his old self.

This last Tuesday we went to see the Motzart's light show.  I was pretty excited to go back again this year. We had dinner at Hula Hut and Eli was on edge thinking we were going to all fall in the water since we were sitting on the outdoor patio.  He could not relax the whole time, just kept saying that he did not like this place and every time Cash would stand up to look at the water "CASH!!!!! SIT DOWN!!!!!!!!" I had no idea how paranoid he would be about that, it was kinda interesting to see how cautious he was.  We headed next door for the show just before 6 and found a table.
Not 15 seconds into it, Eli asked me if it was almost over.  And at that moment I remembered him asking me the exact same thing last year. The boys just were not impressed.  I think we will skip in next year. Blaine and I had fun at least!

As a side note: my kids for whatever reason are ridiclously picky about their clothes. If I am going to make them wear a "cute" shirt as they call them, I have to prepare them before I just "spring it on them."  Certain days of the week I let them pick our their own clothes, and I just cringe at the shirts they choose. Eli is currently obsessed with this sweatshirt. He loves bones, the body, and everything about it, so this was "so cool" according to him and made me re-take this picture to get the whole rib in there.
And we did a super awesome tour of our neighborhood lights.  Someone put together a 10 mile course to see the best lights, it did not disappoint!!
