Wacky Wednesday

Not much different than any other Wednesday.....

SB 2017

We had such a great Spring Break this year! Full of fun, friends and a lot of outdoor time!

Marisa and I both wanted to go somewhere with the kids, just for a day or two to get away and break up the week. We decided on San Antonio. We also both have puppies, so couldn't leave for a long time anyway! It was the perfect getaway!

We loaded up Monday morning and we were on our way!  Our first stop was The San Antonio Zoo.
We made our rounds and saw everything! The boys rode on their first carousel ride, we rode the train, bought souvenirs and had a ton of fun along the way. The last time we were there, Cash was still in my belly, so it had been awhile!

We were all pretty pooped from the zoo, so we went back to the hotel to relax for a bit. Judging by the giggles, I'm pretty sure the kids thought the hotel was just as much fun as the zoo. I checked in with Blaine when we got there and Face timed with Maggie:)
After we had a little rest, we headed out to walk down to the Riverwalk. Our hotel was only about a 15 min (10 min without kids!) walk down there and we passed The Alamo on the way and ran into a friend from their preschool!  We stopped just to take a picture in front of the Alamo because our plans for Tuesday morning was to go to the Alamo.

They loved the Riverwalk and we had a great dinner, with even better Mexican Martinis!  Then we were in for the night!
After an incredibly hectic breakfast downstairs in the hotel, we headed out for The Alamo. We saw some really cool demonstrations and exhibits!

Our next plan had been to go to The Witte. But after driving by and seeing the line wrapped around the building and the jam-packed parking lot, we had to come up with Plan B. So, we did the Doseum instead and it did not disappoint! We had a great time there.

After waiting an INCREDIBLY long time in the line for lunch, we let them run loose on the awesome play scape they had outside before we were heading back to Austin.

I had plans with Jayme for Wednesday afternoon. We went to Peter Pan Mini-Golf and to Phil's Ice House for lunch. I have not been to Peter Pan in ages!!!!! I mean, decades.....I need to come to grips with how old I am. Ugh.
The boys had a great time and it gave me and Jayme a chance to catch up.

On the way home, we made a change of plans and stopped off at the greenbelt. We had not been in a while and the boys were really wanting to go. The boys had packed the nets in the car just in case our plans did not pan out with Jayme and Miles.

It was the perfect end to the day

Cash is one with nature.

It was so much fun, that we went back the next day too! And Ethan came out and met us for a couple of hours.
On Friday, we ventured out to our one and only SXSW event of the year with Rachel, Hobo, the girls and Ethan. Since it was also St. Patricks day and Hobo is a big fan, we all got on our get-up before we left.

We went down the American Legion to hear some music and hang out together.

It was great fun just all being together hanging out.

We capped off the week with a slumber party for the boys at Ty's house. I was certain that Cash would not want to stay the night, but to our surprise, he did! So we had an impromptu date night. And in all honestly, Blaine and I were both hoping Cash would want to come home and we could have a night with just him. "Are you suuuuure you want to stay the night???" But he held his ground and had a blast. The next morning we went out to Lake Travis to go fishing with the Ladd's to cap off Ty's birthday.
Eli was totally in his happy place!

It was fun, but the boys were toast! The meltdowns started as we were walking back to the car and within 5 minutes, they were all out like a light! We headed to my parents to cap off Spring Break with our family dinner.
