Owen was a on a summer basketball team that one of the dads put together. The training and practices were great! The tournaments however, were a little out of their league, being select tournaments (AAU). But they learned a lot, were definitely challenged and had fun.
We have been keeping birthday parties pretty low key around here. This year he asked to take a group of friends out to Rudy's for some BBQ and to run around the field and play some football. Afterwards, we went home, they played some basketball and had some cake. Honestly, the easiest birthday ever!
In late August, actually, the weekend we were moving, Owen was invited to go to Port A with the Chung's. I hesitated letting him go because I thought it might be good for Owen to be there while we moved. But after talking to him about it, and how sad he was to be moving, we all decided it was better that he go and have a really great, fun, weekend! So off he went! And he had a blast!
One thing that Owen really wanted to do before the summer was over was go to Quest ATX. So we made it happen one afternoon with the Chungs.
