Spring Break 2019

The weather over Spring Break could not have been more beautiful! We were all ready and excited for a week of slow mornings, fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants plans, and some time together.

We started the break off with a soccer game for Cash. He played hard. And also took the loss pretty  hard-it was the first loss for their team this season. I think his new mohawk haircut helped him play tough:) He had been asking for this haircut for a long time. Finally, on Friday, the last day of school before Spring Break, I caved and let Blaine give him his dream-do.

On Monday, we took over the town! Well, not really, but we went out and about. First stop was the skate park. It had been a while since we had been and the boys were really wanting to get out there.

Rachel was running errands around there and stopped by for a surprise visit!

After the skate park we headed downtown. Parking was impossible but we eventually found a spot and did some sightseeing on the walk to the store.

Of course my dad gave the boys the keys to the cases and they went to town. I think I heard "Pop, can I have this" more times than I can count....diamond watches, loose stones, bracelets, rings....one day, boys, one day:)

Our last stop before heading home for nap time was to Frozen Rolls Creamery. It is a new ice cream shop owned by a family in Circle C. We wanted to go support our neighbors and try out a new cool spot! It did not disappoint. We all got different flavors and they were all equally delicious. Watching them make it was just as exciting as eating it.

On Tuesday we headed out to Log Country Cove at Lake LBJ for the second year in a row with the Ladds and Daughtrys. We rented a different house this year, one with a pool since the lake was too cold to get in. They did not waste much time before they were all in the pool!

Ty's birthday was on the 18th, so we celebrated with a cookie cake and lots of giant floats (his request) for the pool.

We spent two nights there, and really had a great time! Lots of time in the pool, building castles, eating snacks, staying up late and being with good friends.

We were all ready to get back into our own beds Thursday night, this guy in particular!
Friday was another beautiful day, and Blaine had to work all day, so we packed up and headed to the greenbelt and Taco Deli for lunch,

We ended Friday by meeting up with the Ladds and Reeds for drinks for the mom and playtime for the kids.
On Sunday, we capped off Spring Break with a parents vs. kids baseball game. The kids LOVED it! I was unfortunately on baby duty so I didn't get to play, but loved watching the game.

It was a really great Spring Break. I loved the slow mornings, not having to make lunches, unpack backpacks, homework, the whining....but by the end of the week, I was a little bit ready to be back to some sort of schedule...kinda.
