Eleven, Four, Two

Since my last post, Owen turned ELEVEN months, cut FOUR teeth, and is officially walking on TWO feet!

I think this is actually going to make my life a little easier. He took his first steps almost a month ago, and has been perfecting his "walk" ever since. Eli probably thinks differently.  Even since taking this video, he has gone from making it about 10 feet to about 20 feet, so I suspect that by the time he is one he will be running.  I think it was fun in the beginning for Eli to see him take steps, he would cheer him on and crouch down and say "Come on Owey, walk to me."  Now that the newness has worn off and Owen is all up in Eli's space, he doesn't think its so neat.  But it is so fun to see him wobble around the house and get stronger and faster  by the day.

I felt the pain of four new teeth just as much as Owen did.  We had a string of a few bad, bad, bad nights, and days of no napping.  Hopefully those new teeth have pushed through and stopped causing us pain...until the next ones pop up.

I had a lot of days looking at this sweet face

Is it mean that I stopped to take a picture of my child while he was crying?

Quite the Fun Fourth

We had an eventful holiday.
We started by making pancakes followed by attending a parade in the morning.

It was a good parade, and Eli loved seeing the fire trucks and police cars, getting candy and seeing all the 'big' kids ride their decorated bikes. And Owen did what he does best: Chilled out and snacked on an apple.

The only downside to the parade was that it was about a bazillion degrees out, so we were all sweaty messes afterward.

We walked down close to the park where the parade was ending and camped out with some friends/neighbors of ours until the parade came by.
We had to wait a while before the parade came by, but when it did, Eli was thrilled!
When the parade was over we headed to Dick Nichols Park where they had a couple bouncy houses, popsicles and about a million sweaty kids running around--the perfect place to lose your kid. We met up with one of Eli's favorite buds, Jonah, and let them run loose around the park and through the seal that squirts water.
We ended our morning/afternoon festivities with popsicles and a nap.
Blaine headed to work, so in the afternoon Rachel came over and we took the boys to the pool, always a good time!

Owen is all over the place in the pool!!!

The day ended with good friends for our weekly Bachelorette  viewing.  Even though it was a re-run we still had our get-together and discussed none other than the Casey Anthony trial--that's a whole post within itself, can you believe that verdict???? I'm in shock and frankly disgusted!
Anyway, BJ and LRV don't hate be for the following pictures. You should be thankful I didn't go to my parents house today or there would  be a lot more!  We are so happy Lauren finally made it back to Austin, and our threesome from second grade it back together!
