Uncle Hobo For The Win!

The boys LOVE fishing. Eli especially. He watches any YouTube video he can on the ocean and learns about fish every chance he gets-literally-books, videos, shows.  He says he wants to be a biologist.

These are the kind of things he brings home that he draws at school....

They all "pretend fish" every weekend at my parents house, and my dad just bought them each their own pole to keep over there.

Hobo offered to take the boys fishing Mother's Day weekend. They could not have been more excited!  It was also my birthday.  Blaine was at work that day until noon, and we headed out about 10am to meet Hobo.  We got there and started fishing, Eli's exact words to me were "Mom, this is so exciting!" After maybe 10 minutes of being there, this happened....

Cash caught the first fish of the day, and his very first fish ever! In fact, this was his first time really ever fishing.
Eli jumped right in to get the hook out for him (I was shocked!) and throw the little guy back in.

The sweetest moment of the morning had to be right after Cash caught his fish, Eli sat next to him and said "Im so proud of you Cash!"
After that the fish kept on coming for Eli and Owen. After almost 3 hours, the rain started pouring so we packed up and headed out.

They had so much fun and Hobo was beyond patient with the boys going back and forth between worms and lures and back to worms....getting hooks stuck in the trees, and broken lines.
