Memorial Weekend Wrap-Up

Our Memorial Day Weekend started out pretty soggy and rainy.
I started out the weekend by running 12 miles of wet, rainy miles, it was a wonderful and fun way to start! I cant always find the energy and time to do a long run because of Cash's awful sleeping habits, but I found it in me to crank it out to start the long weekend, and it felt great!
On Saturday morning after my run, we just hung out at home and had a pretty run of the mill day until we headed out to our friends Scott and Carrie's house for a BBQ.  The rain cleared just in time for us to head over there!

These two really hit if off this time and didn't leave each others side! Owen has been talking about Marley non-stop since then!

The boys had to check out Scott's new ride before we left.

On Sunday we got out the door as soon as Cash woke up from his nap and went to see my little cousin Simone, who is 7, in a the play Grease where she played Sandy.  The boys did surprisingly well during the whole play.  My mom brought them each a little mini bag of M&M's and aside from Eli announcing what color he was putting in his mouth each time, they sat there quietly and watched.  Before we headed out the door, I tried to get a good shot of all three, and failed yet again to get a good one.

If we cant get a good one, may as well get some goofy ones!

Sunday evening we headed over to another friends house for a another BBQ.  I didn't get many pictures because I was there solo since Blaine had to go into work and the combination of the annoyance from the humidity and chasing around a 10 month old who wont still still while making sure the bigger boys were behaving proved too much for me that night.

Monday morning we headed to my parents house to help them finish cleaning out their house because their renovation stated the next day. I have a feeling we were not helping too much since the boys were leaving a trail of toys behind them.  But before we got started, we did a little art project!  After we covered these walls, we headed to the kitchen to destroy the awful wall paper that had been there since the house was built. I wont be sad to see that wall paper go!

As a very busy spring ends, I am taking a quick breath before the season changes again. Oh, these transitions.  They require so much practical planning and emotional adjusting.
Now that school is out, we have transitioned into lazy mornings and busy days of outdoor activities. I keep thinking that tomorrow will be a school day and I get a little break, but have to keep reminding myself that those days are over for the next few months. I am trying my best to embrace the freedom of our days and taking advantage of getting together with great friends. We really have not wasted any time jumping into summer activities.

All this playing outside makes for lots of baths around here, a favorite pastime at our house.

And in totally unrelated news, Cash took his first steps today!!!! This kid is growing up way to fast! I mean, look at those legs! They are like tree stumps!

Here is to a fun, busy, great summer!!!!
