4th of July, Minus Fireworks

We were still in major vacation withdrawal from our week in Florida on the 4th, but we managed to get our bikes decorated and head down to the parade in our neighborhood despite our looming laziness, packed bags and messy house.  We had heard how amazing it was every year and how much fun everyone has.  It was our first year living in this house in the this neighborhood and the boys were really excited to get to ride their bikes in the parade.
I headed down first with Eli and Owen and Blaine caught up with us a few minutes before the parade started with Cash in tow.
We ran into a friend of Blaine's who is also a Fire Fighter and worked our way through the crowd down the parade route.  There were a ton of people!
We made it through the parade and went on to the area where they had a bunch of fun stuff for kids set up.
But after waiting in line for snow cones, we settled on a step and caught some shade.  It really was such a fun morning together seeing friends and neighbors!  Next year we may even enter the bike decorating contest!!!
That evening Rachel, Hobo and Lola came over for an early burger 4th of July dinner!  We decided to sit out on fireworks this year.  The boys really don't know any better to know what they are missing, and frankly, I wanted to be in bed early watching Orange is the New Black!  But lucky for us, we had some teenage neighbors doing lots, and lots of very, very loud fireworks right in front of our house in the cul-de-sac!  It was a win-win:)

It really was such a fun morning for us and fun having dinner with some of my absolute favorite people!  Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!
